Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to perform NBIS bridge and NTIS tunnel inspections, and prepare required inspection reports. You will develop staffing plans and inspection schedules, and coordinate field activities with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and third-party entities in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience performing bridge inspections and structural assessments.
• Experience with NBIS and NTIS inspections.
• Experience with VDOT or WMATA preferred.
• Ability to plan and coordinate bridge inspection field activities with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight by collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from field activities and related data sources.
• Apply high-level structural and civil engineering techniques to improve infrastructure projects.
• Perform complex investigations and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; update infrastructure layouts.
• Lead design, construction, rehabilitation, and remediation of building and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and implement advanced technologies and modeling techniques for project optimization.
• Lead large-scale structural engineering projects, manage budgets, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Assist with reviews of permit applications, engineering plans, and inspection programs to ensure compliance.
