Job summary

WSP is seeking a highly skilled NBIS Certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Mountain/Pacific Northwest Region Bridge Inspection Group. You will lead NBIS/NTIS inspections of bridges, tunnels, and related structures, delivering detailed reports and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will mentor junior inspectors, coordinate field activities, and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and CAD technicians to deliver high-quality transportation infrastructure projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
• 7+ years post-education experience in an engineering discipline.
• NBIS Certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader with up-to-date certifications.
• Engineer license required.
• Strong understanding of AASHTO, FHWA, and state inspection standards.
• Proficiency with inspection tools and technologies (tablets, drones, NDT).
• Ability to read and interpret structural plans and load rating analyses.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for field assignments.
• Physical ability for fieldwork and working at heights or over water.

Responsibilities

• Lead NBIS/NTIS inspections and document findings with notes, photos, and sketches.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee field inspection activities, ensuring safety.
• Perform hands-on, rope access, or specialized inspections as required.
• Prepare inspection reports with condition ratings and recommendations.
• Interpret structural plans and load ratings to inform strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and CAD techs for delivery.
• Mentor junior inspectors and provide technical guidance and oversight.
• Communicate inspection results and recommendations to clients.
