Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an engineer to lead the design and analysis of unpressurized structures for a launch vehicle upper stage. You will model, draw, and document interfaces, while coordinating with multiple teams to ensure fit, form, and function in a high-rate production environment.

The role requires hands-on ownership from design through vehicle launch, with travel for manufacturing support and a focus on quality and cost-saving improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering and 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience in launch vehicles, aircraft, or similar structural design.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. (permanent resident acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of primary and secondary structures, including composites and metals.
• Build 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Coordinate with subsystem teams on structural interfaces.
• Provide on-site manufacturing and production support, including travel.
• Ensure production quality and disposition nonconformances.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Work with teams selecting materials, processes, and suppliers.
• Develop and purchase new equipment and tooling; track schedule and budget.
