Job summary

AES Renewables seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to support design development, project engineering, plan reviews, and construction of photovoltaic (PV), high voltage (HV), sub-station, and grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). You will coordinate with AES teams across markets.

The role provides expert technical support for solar PV, substation, HV, and battery storage projects, reviewing calculations, design basis, and costs. Up to 25% travel; remote option available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• PE/SE licensure preferred; master’s degree is a plus.
• 10+ years in structural engineering with PV/BESS and HV experience.

Responsibilities

• Review structural calculations and analyses across PV, substation, HV and BESS projects.
• Evaluate basis of design, detailing, and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on pile load testing, foundation types, and corrosion issues.
• Coordinate with HV and project engineers on schedules and reviews.
• Review design packages for conformance with codes and AES specs.
• Conduct site visits to assess structural issues during construction.
• Support root-cause analysis and safety walks on job sites.
• Build and maintain a database of foundation designs.
