Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Structural Engineer (PE) to support the U.S. Navy PPTT program. The role involves design, analysis, and execution of large-scale steel and concrete structures for a naval propulsion training simulator, with on-site work in Dallastown, PA.

7–10+ years experience and active PE license are required. Responsibilities include engineering reviews, design validation, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams to meet safety standards and customer specs.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• 7–10+ years structural engineering experience on large industrial, energy, or defense projects.
• Experience taking projects through design, construction, and final sign-off.
• Experience with steel and reinforced concrete design and analysis.
• Familiarity with full structural system analysis, not just components.
• Strong understanding of loads, foundations, steel framing, and equipment supports.
• Ability to lead technically across multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and engineering review for complex facilities.
• Analyze designs using RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS or similar tools.
• Support projects from concept through final construction, commissioning and turnover.
• Review drawings, calculations, and construction documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Evaluate steel and reinforced concrete systems for large-scale facilities.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and construction teams to ensure project success.
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards, safety requirements, and customer specs.
