Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the JETSII Contract for a part-time, temporary role not to exceed 30 weeks. You will review commercial crew stress reports, verify hardware designs, and support NASA spaceflight efforts with fracture control expertise.

Typical qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 15+ years of related experience (BSME in Mechanical or Aerospace). Experience with NASA spaceflight hardware structures is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master’s or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
• BSME in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Responsibilities

• Review of Commercial Crew Stress Reports to support first flight NET Jan 2024
• Review of components and subsystem hardware designs
• Fracture control experience for spaceflight hardware and understanding of NASA fracture control requirements and implementation
• Review Structural Analysis Reports and create a spreadsheet database with comments and questions
• Meet with Sierra to resolve comments and questions as needed
• Perform other duties as required
