Mclaurin Aerospace is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a part-time (temp) role at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. You will provide critical review and support for aerospace structures, contributing to the safety and reliability of spaceflight hardware and associated analyses.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; master's or higher may be required.
• BSME in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 15+ years of NASA spaceflight hardware structures and analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to NASA/ES to review Commercial Crew Stress Reports for first flight NET Jan 2024.
• Review components and subsystem hardware designs.
• Review structural verification plans and structural analysis for NASA spaceflight hardware.
• Fracture control experience for spaceflight hardware and NASA fracture control requirements implementation.
• Review Structural Analysis Reports and create a spreadsheet database with comments and questions.
• Meet with Sierra to resolve comments and questions as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer - Part Time (Temp)to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

If selected you will:

• Provide support to NASA/ES to Review of Commercial Crew Stress Reports to support first flight NET Jan 2024
• Review of components and subsystem hardware designs
• Prior Experience reviewing Structural verification plans and structural analysis for NASA spaceflight hardware
• Fracture Control experience for spaceflight hardware, understand of NASA fracture control requirements and implementation
• Review Structural Analysis Reports and create a spreadsheet database with comments and questions
• Meet with Sierra to resolve comments and questions as needed
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
