Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Structural Dynamics Engineer to support NASA MSFC Huntsville and future sites. You will develop dynamic models for launch vehicles and spacecraft, run FEMs, perform reductions, and deliver analyses to help validate structural loads for SLS and HLS programs.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in reviews, and present results to customers and providers. Requires U.S. citizenship and STAR ID, with willingness to travel 5% and relocate to Huntsville area.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required; MS preferred with 8+ years experience, or BS with 10+ years.
• U.S. citizenship and STAR ID required for access to NASA facilities.
• Experience with structural dynamics tools and aerospace/spaceflight programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural dynamic models and simulations for launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Create NASTRAN FEMs and perform Hurty/Craig-Bampton reductions; run LS-Dyna and in-house tools.
• Develop environments and forcing functions for multiple loading events and analyze results.
• Conduct post-test analyses and present findings to teams and customers.
• Collaborate across disciplines; participate in reviews and TIMs; document reports.
