Job summary

Socket.dev in Houston, TX is seeking a Junior Stress Analyst to support NASA JSC under the JETS II contract. You will contribute to the Structures, Stress and Fracture Control efforts and help ensure aerospace hardware meets safety margins and performance standards.

The role offers hands-on experience with classical stress analyses, FE modeling (PATRAN/FEMAP at minimum), and collaboration with engineers across disciplines. Bachelor’s in Engineering and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace) from an accredited school.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with desktop software applications (MS Office) is required.

Responsibilities

• Support structural analysis tasks for NASA JSC under the JETS II contract.
• Review structural requirements for Flight Hardware and Test Equipment.
• Perform classical hand calculations and develop Finite Element models (PATRAN, FEMAP, MSC/MARC).
• Prepare structural analysis reports and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
