Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified Structural Analyst to support NASA's MSFC Space Systems Department on the ESSCA contract. You will perform structural analyses, develop stress packages, and provide technical oversight for environmental control life support systems hardware.

You will mentor peers, prepare reports, and collaborate with vendors and other NASA centers to advance integrated flight hardware efforts, while traveling domestically as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in finite element analysis and failure mechanism assessment.
• Experience validating Environmental Life Control Support System spaceflight equipment.
• Knowledge of NASA and MSFC standards; experience with joints, fasteners, adhesives, welds, and composites/metallic interfaces.
• Knowledge of FEM and CAD tools; experience with FEM software such as Femap, Simcenter, NASTRAN, HyperMesh, HyperWorks, Abaqus, ANSYS Workbench.

Responsibilities

• Develop formal stress analysis packages for structural systems.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to fellow analysts.
• Interface with program stakeholders and leaders.
• Deliver reports and presentations to management.
• Collaborate with outside vendors and personnel from other NASA centers for integrated flight hardware.
• Contribute to preliminary designs and development of reports.
