Job summary

Amentum Space Exploration Division (ASED) is seeking a Structural Analyst to perform structural strength analysis for non-flight hardware in support of NASA programs. You will develop formal stress analysis packages, interface with design engineers, and deliver reports to management.

Required ABET-accredited degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field, proficiency with FEM codes, and strong communication skills. Office tasks and travel within the USA are part of the role.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• PhD with some experience, MS with 3+ years, or BS with 8+ years experience.
• Proficiency in one or more major FE codes and Microsoft Office products is expected.

Responsibilities

• Development of formal stress analysis packages for ground support and special test equipment using strength of materials and finite element-based methods.
• Interfacing with design engineers to provide inputs to preliminary designs
• Development and delivery of reports and presentations to management
• Collaboration with outside vendors and personnel from other NASA centers in the development of structural hardware
