Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Structural Stress Analysis Engineer to join the Structural Engineering and Analysis team supporting NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Programs. The role involves structural analysis, testing support, and interdisciplinary collaboration on space instruments and ground support equipment.

Responsibilities include developing hardware, running FEA using NASTRAN/FEMAP or PATRAN, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with NASA GSFC requirements.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Minimum 10 years of structural analysis experience
• Experience with FEA software (NASTRAN/FEMAP or PATRAN) and programming in Excel, MATLAB or Python

Responsibilities

• Support hardware development from concept to launch within a design team
• Perform structural analyses to meet stiffness, strength, STOP, and other requirements
• Create FEMs for normal modes, static and dynamic analyses
• Support static and dynamic structural tests and prepare analysis reports
• Ensure compliance with NASA/GSFC requirements
