Job summary

Schnabel Jersey City, NJ office is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Manager (Water Infrastructure) to support the expansion of our Water, Power & Energy, and Government markets in the Northeast and nationwide. You will serve as project manager and technical leader, providing oversight, technical guidance, and support for a broad range of projects involving dams and flood defenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering; master's preferred.
• 7+ years in structural engineering for water infrastructure; dams/hydropower a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or able to become registered within 6 months.
• Experience with structural analysis and finite element modeling tools (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BlueBeam and related design software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or review structural analyses and designs for water- and earth-retaining structures.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, reports; oversee construction.
• Conduct condition assessments of concrete, steel, masonry, and earth structures.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, invoicing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and partner networks.
• Mentor team members and support staff; contribute to proposals and marketing.
• Stay current with industry software and technologies and advise on adoption.
