Job summary

Schnabel Jersey City, NJ office is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Manager (Water Infrastructure) to support the expansion of our Water, Power & Energy, and Government markets in the Northeast and nationwide. You will serve as project manager and technical leader, providing oversight, technical guidance, and support for a broad range of projects involving dams and flood defenses.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering; master's preferred.
7+ years in structural engineering for water infrastructure; dams/hydropower a plus.
Licensed Professional Engineer or able to become registered within 6 months.
Experience with structural analysis and finite element modeling tools (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, BlueBeam and related design software.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel and perform field work.

Responsibilities

Lead and/or review structural analyses and designs for water- and earth-retaining structures.
Prepare and review drawings, specifications, reports; oversee construction.
Conduct condition assessments of concrete, steel, masonry, and earth structures.
Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, invoicing.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and partner networks.
Mentor team members and support staff; contribute to proposals and marketing.
Stay current with industry software and technologies and advise on adoption.
