Job summary

Schnabel Engineering seeks a Senior Structural Engineer/Manager (Water Infrastructure) in Jersey City, NJ to lead and technically guide projects spanning dams, levees, flood resiliency, and heavy-civil assets. You will drive project oversight, engage in business development, and mentor others while delivering technically sound solutions across a broad geographic area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of structural engineering experience in water infrastructure; dams/hydropower a plus.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become registered within 6 months.
• Experience with structural analysis software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS) and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit).
• Experience with risk analysis tools (RMC, @Risk, Precision Tree).
• Strong communication of risk assessments to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead/review structural analyses and designs for water-related structures including dams and flood protection.
• Prepare/review drawings, specs, reports; oversee construction activities.
• Conduct dam safety risk assessments and risk-informed decision making.
• Facilitate risk-informed workshops for dams and levees.
• Contribute to capital and project planning; support business development.
• Mentor team members and contribute to proposals and marketing.
