Schnabel's Jersey City, NJ office seeks a Senior/Supervising Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical and interdisciplinary infrastructure projects across the Northeast and nationwide. You will manage teams, oversee field investigations, and provide technical guidance to ensure quality results while supporting business development.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff, applying data-driven design, and maintaining Schnabel’s high standards in engineering excellence and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical and/or Civil Engineering required.
• 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or eligible to become licensed within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical/geostructural engineering, soil/rock mechanics, groundwater hydrology.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and provide technical support for geotechnical projects.
• Develop and oversee field investigations and data analyses; use or oversee design work for dams, levees, and related structures.
• Supervise and mentor geotechnical staff, foster technical excellence and development.
• Lead proposals, build teams, and pursue client requirements with innovative technologies.
