Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Miami, FL office to lead structural design for building and infrastructure projects. You will guide analysis, modeling, documentation, and coordination with architects and planners, ensuring code compliance and safety.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare technical reports, and supervise site investigations while maintaining QA/QC. Strong communication with clients and regulators is essential for project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline with structural/civil design experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build.
• Experience with design and construction management on rehabilitation and new design projects.
• Knowledge of structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
• Ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans and specifications.
• Project management experience on small to mid-size projects.
• Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on construction and design.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine methods for collecting and analyzing data from site surveys, drawings, and geotechnical data for project development.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspect proposed and existing site conditions for conformance with standards.
• Develop construction plans and specifications.
• Incorporate advanced modeling techniques to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and others to execute multiple projects.
• Verify site characteristics to ensure structural soundness from loads and pressures.
• Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, and reports for presentations.
• Maintain QA/QC standards for precise measurements and reporting.
• Assist in scoping medium-sized projects and mentor entry-level engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
