Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead project teams delivering design for a range of facilities including power, healthcare, airports and government sectors. You will guide the design through the full lifecycle, coordinating with clients, vendors and other disciplines to meet budgets and schedules.

You will review drawings, prepare specifications and data sheets, oversee QA/QC, mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposals and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Structural Engineering or related field with 7+ years of structural experience.
• FE exam passed or PE license preferred; EPC project experience valued.
• Strong knowledge of structural codes (IBC, AISC, ACI) and software tools.
• Proven ability to lead large projects and manage cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets, RFQs and technical bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers and other disciplines.
• Develop project schedules, scope, budgets and staffing plans.
• Ensure QA/QC and adherence to safety policies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership to the structural team.
• Prepare and present technical reports and cost proposals.
• Assist in business development and client relationship building.
• Lead field inspections and coordinate with construction teams.
• Travel as required (up to 25%).
