Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead project teams across a broad portfolio, including power, healthcare, and government facilities. You will guide design from concept to construction, ensure compliance with codes, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree plus 7 years structural engineering experience (EPC project exp. preferred).
• Alternate: ABET-accredited degree in Structural/Engineering Technology + FE exam pass + 7 years experience (EPC exp. preferred).
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering + 6 years experience (EPC exp. preferred).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design of projects from concept to design completion.
• Prepare structural equipment specifications, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
• Review vendor drawings and interface with suppliers, clients and other disciplines.
• Participate in scheduling, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning; manage changes.
• Apply knowledge of structural design codes (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE7) and standard engineering techniques.
• Quality review production drawings and CAD-related data.
• Coordinate field inspections, calculations, and testing of materials.
• Build relationships with clients and contractors; identify new business opportunities.
• Lead development of cost proposals and qualification statements; prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers; ensure QA/QC adherence.
