Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Boston seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the Building Engineering Services structural design and serve as the Engineer of Record. You will drive design from concept through construction and coordinate with architects and other disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of A/E consulting experience, PE license (MA preferred), and proficiency in RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro and Revit. On-site, full-time role in New England preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE license in MA or ability to obtain.
10+ years of structural engineering experience in A/E consulting.
Proficiency with RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA-3D, and STAAD.Pro; BIM with Revit.
Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318 and related standards.
Experience leading multidisciplinary projects from planning to construction.
Ability to mentor staff and lead technical reviews.

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering design and review for buildings and infrastructure.
Serve as Structural Engineer of Record (SER) for projects.
Develop structural systems based on codes, constructability and lifecycle cost.
Perform analysis and design using industry software; integrate BIM/delivery workflows.
Prepare calculations, specs, reports, and construction documents.
Coordinate with architects and other discipline engineers; support proposals and client presentations.
Mentor junior engineers, designers and EITs; participate in recruiting and onboarding.
