Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Greenville, SC is seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to lead design on power, process, industrial, healthcare and government projects. You will work with project teams through conceptual design to construction, adapting plans to budget and client needs.

The role requires ABET-accredited degree, FE exam or MS, strong knowledge of structural engineering concepts, and proficiency with AutoCAD, ETABS, RISA 3D and BIM tools. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or related field with 3 years of structural engineering experience.
Alternative: ABET-accredited B.S. in Structural Engineering Technology with FE exam and 3 years of experience.
Master's degree in Structural Engineering with 2 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform structural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
Review production drawings for various facilities including power, process, industrial, healthcare, airports and government projects.
Design structural components per project manager requirements.
Apply engineering concepts and procedures within the industry.
Research and compile project data for managers.
Update drawings in CAD software and verify corrections.
Prepare client presentations, shop drawings and contract administration.
Conduct field inspections and calculations for public and private clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
