Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior structural engineering expert to lead data center projects nationwide. You will direct design strategies, mentor teams, and liaise with clients and stakeholders across multiple offices.

The role blends technical authority with leadership across design, construction, and delivery. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of structural engineering experience, PE licensure, and proficiency with CAD/analysis tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become licensed in additional states
15+ years of professional structural engineering experience
Experience leading data center or mission-critical projects
Strong knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and building codes
Ability to communicate with clients and stakeholders at executive levels
Proficiency with CAD/analysis software and MS Office suite
Willingness to travel 10–40% of the time

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering efforts across data center projects, including new builds and retrofits
Mentor junior and senior staff; communicate project status to clients and upper management
Shape project execution, design strategy, and delivery under Design-Build methodologies
Provide quality reviews, complex analyses, and ensure code-compliant, constructible solutions
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage schedules, deliverables, and budgets
