Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead a portfolio of data center projects, guiding design and delivery across multiple teams. The role blends technical authority with client-facing leadership, mentoring junior staff and coordinating across contractors and clients.

You will mentor leads, shape project execution, and influence design strategy while advancing Jacobs’ high-performance infrastructure delivery. Occasional travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer with ability to become registered in additional states.
• Knowledge of CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation and S3D.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, RamSS or STAAD.
• Knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and industry design codes and standards.
• Ability to travel to client sites (approx. 10–40% travel).

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts across a portfolio of data center projects.
• Mentor structural leads and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Communicate status to clients and upper management.
• Guide design delivery and the Design-Build process.
