Job summary

City and County of Honolulu, Department of Design & Construction, Civil Division, seeks a licensed structural engineer to coordinate and oversee project plans, reports, permits, specs, and cost estimates for bridges and related structures in Honolulu.

Requires Hawaii professional structural engineer license, one year of experience, and a four-year engineering degree; education verification and license processing are required; salary is commensurate with experience and benefits are excellent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty is required.
• One year of registered professional structural engineering experience.
• Possession of a valid Hawaii Professional Structural Engineer license or eligibility to obtain Hawaii license prior to appointment.
• Education verification may be requested during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee development of project plans, reports, permits, specifications, and cost estimates for projects such as bridges, drainage structures, and other concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Coordinate and oversee bridge inspection reports and load ratings for bridge inspection projects.
• Maintain project administration, including scheduling, reviewing consultant invoices, and preparing contract amendments.
