Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Troy, New York team. You will provide high level technical expertise for investigation, remediation, improvement, and construction of bridges and infrastructure in the public sector.

You will lead design, prepare reports, coordinate with owners/clients, and guide junior staff while ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of post-education engineering experience.
• New York State PE license or eligible for reciprocity.
• Proficient in structural principles, design/build, and compliance.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Apply high-level structural engineering techniques across project phases.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Oversee cross-functional teams and manage project budgets.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with codes, QA/QC, and safety requirements.
