Job summary

WSP USA, Troy, New York, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to join our bridge-focused infrastructure team. You will lead analysis, design, and site-work, interfacing with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, durable structures.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of post-education experience, NY PE licensure or reciprocity, and strong proficiency in structural software. The role emphasizes leadership, QA/QC, and collaboration on complex projects in both public and private sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of post-education structural engineering experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer in New York State or eligible via reciprocity.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Experience with infrastructure design, rehab and new construction projects.
• Knowledge of sustainability concepts and hazardous-substance reduction.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and QA/QC requirements.
• Ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans and specs.
• Project management experience for small to mid-size projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead/perform structural engineering analysis for bridges and related infrastructure.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates with coordination.
• Model advanced design concepts and ensure end-user safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients for project delivery.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and interns.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations of findings.
