Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Professional / Structural Engineer to join the Complex Bridge Practice in New York City or any US office. This role offers a hybrid-workplace model and collaboration within a large, global firm.

You will perform advanced structural analysis and design for long-span bridges, mentor staff, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. Strong FE modeling skills and PE licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering required.
• 5+ years of relevant post-education bridge design experience.
• Professional Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong proficiency in structural engineering principles, design and analysis for bridges.
• Experience with advanced structural modeling and FE analysis using specialized software.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural engineering work and assess site conditions for conformance with codes and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specs and cost estimates; coordinate with owners, disciplines and clients.
• Lead design reviews and mentor others in complex bridge projects.
• Apply modeling techniques and design standards for safe, functional bridge solutions.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and manage project budgets and resources.
• Stay current with bridge codes and best practices.
• Ensure QA/QC through rigorous technical reviews.
• Support business development and client communications.
