Job summary

Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Civil Structural Engineer opportunity in Oak Brook, IL. This role focuses on ASME BPVC III/VIII and B31.1/B31.3, developing buildable designs for skids, foundations, and platforms while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with mechanical, piping, and process teams, and stay current on industry developments related to advanced reactor technologies. Onsite work in Oak Brook is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in heavy industrial structural design, preferably nuclear/energy.
• Advanced knowledge of ASME BPVC Sections III and VIII.

Responsibilities

• Serve as authority on ASME BPVC III/VIII and ASME B31.1 and B31.3.
• Author and review engineering calculation packages to certify compliance with standards.
• Audit outputs from drafters, designers, and vendors to ensure technical accuracy and deliverables meet requirements.
• Mentor junior structural engineers on code calculations and FEA software.
