Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer for advanced reactor systems. The role focuses on dynamic structural analysis under seismic and transient loads, with output guiding critical design decisions and qualification activities.

Proficiency in ANSYS and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are essential. This fully remote contract position is based near Knoxville, TN, with pay between $60.00 and $90.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of engineering experience in structural analysis.
• At least 10 years of dynamic structural analysis experience.
• Extensive seismic analysis experience (modal, response spectrum, transient).
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with stress analysis for complex structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic structural analyses, including seismic, modal, response spectrum, and transient evaluations for advanced reactor systems.
• Conduct interference and fit-up assessments for complex assemblies.
• Size and specify PRVs in accordance with industry codes and standards.
• Develop engineering calculations, reports, and documentation to substantiate design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support reactor system design and verification.
• Utilize ANSYS and similar tools to evaluate structural behavior and optimization.
