Job summary
Actalent is hiring E1 and E2 Structural Engineers for a long-term, 100% remote opportunity supporting nuclear power projects. We welcome recent graduates through about 6 years of experience, emphasizing strong structural fundamentals and coursework or internships in structural analysis, steel, and concrete design.
Key tasks include structural analysis, design, and evaluations for steel and reinforced concrete, with exposure to AISC/ACI/ASCE codes and tools like GT STRUDL, ANSYS, SAP2000,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- 0–6 years of structural engineering experience accepted.
- Strong fundamentals in structural analysis, steel and concrete design.
- Exposure to AISC/ACI/ASCE codes encouraged.
- Nuclear experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
- Support nuclear plant modifications, upgrades, and structural evaluations.
- Analyze structures for static, seismic, and other loading conditions.
- Design and evaluate foundations, structural frames, equipment supports, and piping supports.
- Apply AISC, ACI, and ASCE codes and standards.
- Utilize GT STRUDL, ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, RISA, ETABS, or similar tools.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers across multidisciplinary project teams.
