Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineer IV, Civil/Structural to support commercial nuclear power facilities. You will independently perform analyses, calculations, and design activities, guiding modifications that enhance safety and reliability.

The role requires a strong foundation in structural steel, reinforced concrete, seismic analysis, and FE methods, with 7+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years in nuclear power. Hybrid work in multiple locations is offered.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from ABET-accredited program.
Minimum seven (7) years of relevant engineering experience.
Minimum five (5) years of commercial nuclear power experience.
Experience with structural analyses, calculations, and design modifications.
Experience with nuclear plant modifications and design change activities.
Proficiency in ANSYS, GT STRUDL, AutoPIPE/CAESAR II.

Responsibilities

Perform civil/structural analyses and design activities for nuclear plant modifications.
Develop calculations, design change packages, and technical documentation.
Apply seismic, steel, reinforced concrete design, and FE analysis.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and client representatives.
Review work products for accuracy and quality; mentor junior staff.
