Job summary

GFT in Chicago seeks a Sr. Structural Designer to join our Structures Group. You will assist with design and analysis of buildings and transportation facilities, using structural steel, concrete and masonry, and collaborate with engineers across disciplines.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, a BS in Engineering, and familiarity with ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, STAAD or similar tools. Hybrid work and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural analysis and design of buildings, transportation facilities, and industrial projects using steel, concrete and masonry.
• Perform design calculations for steel, concrete and masonry members.
• Coordinate structural design with project requirements and other disciplines.
• Develop structural details for concrete and steel members such as slabs, footings, columns and beams.
• Apply knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, and ACI standards.
• Assist Lead Engineers and Project Managers with duties as assigned.
• Conduct field inspections of facilities and transit structures as needed.
