Job summary

GFT, a leading AEC firm, seeks a Sr. Structural Engineer to join our Buildings and Places Structural Team in Mechanicsburg, Valley Forge, or Philadelphia, PA.

This hybrid role requires regular office attendance and offers the chance to lead design and analysis for a diverse portfolio of buildings, transit facilities, industrial projects, and infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with other disciplines, develop contract documents, and review calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil/structural engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience in buildings/infrastructure.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software.
• Experience with Revit and BIM environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, perform, and review structural design and analysis calculations.
• Prepare construction plans for buildings and infrastructure.
• Develop contract documents including plans, details and specs.
• Perform calculations per codes and standards.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Conduct field observations and investigations.
• Prepare reports with clear, concise writing.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Develop and review structural analysis models.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, architects, clients, and contractors.
• Perform technical reviews and quality control of deliverables.
• Support client coordination and proposal development.
