Job summary

GFT in Chicago, IL is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join the Buildings & Places group. This role follows a hybrid work model with at least three days onsite.

The successful candidate will assist in structural analysis, construction documents, and design coordination while receiving mentorship from senior engineers. December 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited Civil or Architectural Engineering program.
• 0–3 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Willingness to learn Revit and stay current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and calculations with guidance from senior engineers.
• Assist in developing construction documents using Revit.
• Participate in design coordination with internal/external teams.
• Support field investigations and site inspections.
• Review submittals and RFIs during construction.
