Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
• Experience applying civil engineering principles to structural design.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design standards.
• Experience with automated engineering/design software.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise in assigned program areas.
• Serve as responsible-charge engineer for evaluation, design, and detailing of bridges and structures.
• Check plans to meet AASHTO and VDOT specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare or review bridge plans and structural drawings; analyze load capacity.
