Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• Experience in structural steel design, reinforced and prestressed concrete design and soil mechanics.
• Experience applying civil engineering principles: strength of materials, statics and structural analysis.
• Experience in project management and consultant design contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and final bridge and structure designs for new construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects.
• Check structural plans for conformance with AASHTO/VDOT specifications.
• Lead or participate in project teams and meetings to provide updates and technical guidance.
• Develop, review and monitor project scopes, schedules and budgets.
