• Apply civil engineering principles to structural engineering including statics and structural analysis.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Estimate quantities and costs of materials.
• Interpret construction plans and produce structural design notes.
• Manage projects and review/ administer consultant design contracts.
• Supervise and train others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bridge and structure designs for new construction, maintenance, and rehabilitation.
• Lead project teams and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with management, stakeholders, and FHWA on transportation projects.
• Review and approve engineering activities and technical reports.
• Serve as project manager for bridge design and rehabilitation projects.
