Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a senior structural engineer to join our Houston-based team. You will lead structural design efforts on railroad and highway bridges, perform analyses, and supervise design teams to deliver project-ready plans and specifications.

Ideal candidates have a PE in Texas, 5+ years of bridge experience, and familiarity with LRFD and AREMA standards. Occasional field data collection and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Current and valid PE license in Texas.
• 5+ years of structural engineering experience focused on bridges.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and AREMA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering assignments under the direction of a licensed engineer with clear objectives.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to structural design teams.
• Assist with the preparation of structural engineering projects including analysis and design of railroad and highway bridges, reinforced concrete and steel design, foundations, and related elements.
• Travel to collect offsite field data as needed.
