Job summary

EXP Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer to join our Infrastructure – Transportation practice in the Mid Atlantic, based in Fairfax, VA, with a hybrid work schedule. You will design bridges, perform load ratings, and prepare plans and calculations for diverse structures.

The ideal candidate has a BS in civil/structural engineering, a PE license in the DMV, and at least six years of relevant experience. Proficiency with SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, and MicroStation is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering; PE licensure in DMV jurisdictions.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, bridge analysis, design and detailing preferred.
• Proficient with structural analysis software (SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D).
• Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Structural design for bridges and related structures.
• Schematic/geometric layout design of new structures.
• Perform analysis and design calculations per codes; use computer programs as appropriate.
• Conduct load rating analysis for bridges.
• Prepare plan drawings, specifications and design calculations.
• On-site inspection, analysis and condition assessment of existing structures.
• Prepare construction and Life Cycle Cost estimates.
• Construction phase engineering support including reviews of shop drawings and RFIs.
• Assist project managers with scoping and budgeting for structural work and ensure deliverable quality.
• This position follows a hybrid schedule with minimum three days in the office; locations include Fairfax, DC, or Towson.
