Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Washington, DC / Tysons Corner, VA hybrid team and lead design and oversight of bridge projects.

You will develop construction documents and coordinate with highway, pedestrian, rail, and marine groups to deliver complex infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will bring 8+ years of bridge design experience, a PE license, and strong mentoring and collaboration skills in a technology-enabled

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required.
• PE license required.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects.
• Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages.
• Provide technical and training support to structural engineering staff.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.
• Assist in preparing qualification packages, proposals, and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling.
• Provide project management support.
• Lead structural inspections/evaluations and associated load capacity ratings.
• Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews.
• Assist project managers with coordination between various groups working on structural projects.
• Participate in the proposal process, determining client requirements and developing plans, specifications, quantities of materials, construction cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents.
• Prepare technical reports and sections of proposals and/or contracts.
