Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Structural / Bridge Engineer to join our Infrastructure – Transportation team in the Mid Atlantic, based in Fairfax, VA, Washington, DC, or Towson. You will design and analyze bridges and related structures, perform load rating and detailing, and support projects from planning through construction.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, a PE license in at least one DMV jurisdiction, and a minimum of six years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• PE licensure in DC/MD/VA (DMV) jurisdictions is required.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
• Knowledge of AASHTO bridge analysis, design and detailing.
• Knowledge of structural analysis software: SAP-CSI, AASHTOWareBrR, LARSA 4D or similar.
• Proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Structural design for all project types, including complex bridges.
• Schematic/geometric layout design of new structures.
• Perform analysis and design calculations per codes; use software.
• Conduct load rating analysis for bridges.
• Prepare plan drawings, details, specs and calculations.
• On-site inspection and condition assessment of structures.
• Life cycle cost estimates and construction-phase support.
• Assist PMs with scoping and budgeting; ensure deliverable quality.
