LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Practice. You will lead design efforts from preliminary to final stages and mentor junior staff on complex bridge projects.

Collaborate with DOTs and local governments, manage design-build and traditional projects, and help ensure schedules and budgets are met while advancing critical infrastructure in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineer license (P.E.).
• 10+ years of bridge/culvert design experience.
• DOT bridge design experience and knowledge of DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design tasks for bridge projects from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings with DOTs, municipalities, and project managers.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans.
• Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling.
