Job summary

LJB Inc. in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager to support and grow our Transportation Practice.

Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project scope and profitability, and coordinate with clients, DOT partners, and sub-consultants from our Charlotte office. The role emphasizes client growth, mentorship, and delivering safe, efficient transportation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• P.E. license.
• At least 10 years of experience in consulting or engineering.
• Experience working with DOTs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for management, scope, fees, and the profitability of individual projects and project portfolio.
• Point person and firm’s contact with clients while functioning as project manager.
• Assists in new sales with clients for which they are managing projects.
• Guides and coordinates internal LJB transportation disciplines with sub-consultants and clients.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Possesses an understanding of all transportation disciplines and requirements as related to bridge design projects.
• Responsible for assisting Deputy Operations Manager in maintaining PM best practices.
• On larger projects, may or may not be involved directly in the design.
• Apprise Operations Management of employee performance on projects.
• Provide information to Deputy Operations Manager on future projects so they can manage staffing.
• Assist in informal development of other employees.
• Other duties as assigned.
