Ambry Genetics Corporation, a CAP-accredited and CLIA-licensed molecular genetics laboratory based in Aliso Viejo, California, seeks a Structural Biologist III. Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, structural biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in computational structural biology or related fields, including at least 2 years post-doc or industrial experience and 2 years management experience.
• Fluency in scripting languages (Python, R, Perl, C/C++, Java, SQL) and bioinformatics/modeling software; strong background in molecular dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural biology support for variant analyses through structure-function interpretation.
• Develop methods, protocols, and tools for structural modeling, MD, and clinical variant assessment on internal platforms.
• Partner with statisticians and data scientists to validate algorithms and data collection workflows.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts across Bioinformatics, R&D, and reporting teams for clinical research projects.
• Write testable, production-grade code adhering to SDLC standards and code review practices.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases while mentoring junior staff.
• Direct and lead the structural team through leadership ensuring timely project completion.
• Inform leadership about project progress and blockers.
