Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL, is seeking a senior structural analyst to join the Lunar Permanence program. You will analyze fluid and pressurized systems for lunar spacecraft, perform FEM analyses, and contribute to design validation and test planning.

The role requires a BS in engineering or physics, 12+ years in aerospace structural analysis, and experience with ANSYS Workbench or NASTRAN. You will collaborate with NASA and partners to enable sustainable lunar transportation systems.

Qualifications

Minimum of B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or physics.
12+ years structural analysis experience in aerospace, energy or transportation.
Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods.
Experience with FEM software (preference: ANSYS Workbench, NASTRAN)
Experience with pressurized systems, cryogenic environments, bolted and welded joints is desirable.

Responsibilities

Analysis from concept to drawing release of fluid and/or pressurized systems designed for Lunar spacecraft applications
Closed-form and Finite Element analyzes development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
Strength checks and analysis report generation
Test and verification plan and report generation
Support configuration development and trade studies
Process and tool development
