The role emphasizes proficiency with tools like Hyperworks, NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus, Matlab, and LS-DYNA, and requires a strong background in spacecraft loads development and validation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in structural analysis of space/aerospace vehicles or structures.
• Strong foundation in static and dynamic structural fundamentals.
• Experience using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, or 3rd party tools).
• Interest in spacecraft structural/environmental loads development and validation.

Responsibilities

• Solve static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods.
• Perform acceleration, shock, and vibration analysis.
• Develop, refine, validate, and correlate Finite Element Models to tests.
• Support configuration development and trade studies of separation mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure safety and reliability of space systems.
