Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems in Palmdale, CA seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2 or 3) for the 2nd shift (4/10, Mon-Thu). The role centers on MRB stress analysis in a fast-paced production environment, evaluating metals, non-metals, and composites in airframe structures.

The engineer will analyze, research, and develop structural specifications, assess damage tolerance, and perform random vibration analyses using FEMAP, Nastran, Catia, NX and other software applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with relevant experience required; master’s with no experience acceptable for some roles.
• Master’s or PhD holders may qualify for higher seniority levels.
• Current DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain access as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with design and other disciplines during development.
• Present structural issues and proposed solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve designs, equipment, and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop practical solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards and specs.
• Utilize structural analysis methods and large Finite Element Models.
