Job summary

Northrop Grumman in McLean, VA is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer at Level 2 or 3 for on-site work in the Space sector. The role defines the art of the possible from day one on spacecraft systems, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

You will perform static and dynamic structure analysis, review requirements, select data, and release technical documents after senior review, while developing innovative solutions and evaluating designs to meet space-grade requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with focus in Structural Analysis preferred.
• 2+ years experience for Level 2 or 5+ years for Level 3, or advanced degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Experience with at least one mechanical analysis tool (NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS or HYPERMESH).

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
• Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Select technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determine design paths and compute engineering characteristics for space applications.
• Release results as technical documents after review by seniors.
• Develop innovative solutions and elaborate design concepts.
