Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale or El Segundo, CA, seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join a high-paced development team on a 9/80 schedule.

The role focuses on structural modification stress analysis and manufacturing engineering for metals, non-metals, and composites, using Catia, FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran to support advanced aircraft programs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 8+ years of experience, or MS with 5+ years.
• Active US Government Secret clearance (or eligibility for SAP access).
• Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Experience with structural analysis methods and documentation including hand-sheet analysis and large FEM models.
• Experience using PATRAN, or FEMAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Present structural issues/solutions to management and customer representatives.
