Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join a high-paced development team in Palmdale or El Segundo, CA.

The role focuses on structural modification stress analysis and manufacturing engineering supporting advanced programs. Responsibilities include analyzing metal and composite airframe structures, assessing damage tolerance, and using tools like Catia, FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil engineering with relevant experience.
• Active US Government Secret clearance or eligibility.
• Experience in bonded composite and metallic structural analysis of aircraft structures.
• Experience with PATRAN or FEMAP.
• Knowledge of random vibration analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other disciplines on design solutions.
• Present structural issues/solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve designs and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop solutions that are thorough, practical, and objective-driven.
• Evaluate as-built products for conformance to standards.
