Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join a diverse team in Palmdale or El Segundo, CA.

The role focuses on structural modification stress analysis and manufacturing engineering for a fast-paced development program, using Catia, FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran. The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in engineering with extensive aerospace structural analysis experience, active Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain SAP access.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 8+ years in aerospace structural analysis or MS with 5+ years.
• Active US Government Secret clearance or higher; SAP access required.
• Experience in bonded composite and metallic structural analysis of aircraft structures.
• Proficient in structural analysis methods and documentation, including large FEA models.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and clarity.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop design solutions.
• Explain structural issues/solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve designs for production delivery; solve difficult problems.
• Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards.
